PET VALU TO PROMOTE ANIMAL ADOPTION
By Adnews Staff
Pet Valu Canada Inc. of Markham, Ont. has teamed up with the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to promote its products and animal adoption. Beginning this summer, the pet food chain will carry lists in its 225 Ontario outlets of the animals available for adoption at each Ontario OSPCA location. The lists will be updated every two weeks. In addition, for every pet adopted at a shelter, the customer will receive an adoption kit that contains a Pet Valu coupon, which will offer a discount on start-up supplies. The kits will also include free samples of Pet Valu dog or cat food, nutritional information about the food and hand-outs identifying Pet Valu store locations. For each coupon redeemed, Pet Valu will donate $2 to the relevant shelter. The chain will promote the program using in-store materials created in-house.
