By Adnews Staff
Intel Corp. of Santa Clara, California is targeting first-time computer users with its latest processor. Called Celeron, the processor will be available worldwide in April and will offer a cost-effective solution for PC manufacturers designing basic PC systems. Basic PCs provide a base level of functionality with limited expandablility to meet the core needs and affordability requirements common to many new home and business users. In Canada, Intel will promote the new chip using national print and Web advertising. The campaign will be created by Dahlim Smith White of Utah, while Harrison, Young, Pesonen & Newell of Toronto will do the media buy. Later this year, Intel will introduce a new branded processor for enterprise servers and workstations.
