HYDRO-QUEBEC OFFERS SAFETY REMINDERS

Montreal-based Hydro-Quebec launched a campaign late last month to remind people that they need to follow strict safety guidelines in the aftermath of January's ice storm. Thousands of Quebecers were left without hydro for up to three weeks last month after an ice storm tore down power lines and towers. The campaign uses radio ads to tell snowmobilers not to ride in zones where Hydro-Quebec restoration work is still underway. In addition, snowmobilers shouldn't ride under hydro lines because debris, wires and other pieces of equipment are still on the ground and are now covered with snow, which could cause serious accidents. Posters and pamphlets are being used to tell people to avoid touching Hydro-Quebec equipment such as electrical wires, equipment parts and debris. Advertising for Hydro-Quebec is done by BOS of Montreal.
