COMPAQ UNLEASHES NEW NOTEBOOKS

Houston-based Compaq Computer Corp. is introducing a new notebook computer to the North American market in late September. The LTE 5000 is a 64-bit machine with memory expandable to 72 megabytes and a hard drive capacity of 2.7 gigabytes. The Microsoft Corporation is using the LTE 5000 to demonstrate Microsoft's Windows 95 operating system in the U.S. In Canada, print and outdoor advertising will be used for the launch, created by Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of Toronto.
