P&G TESTING LOW-PRICED DETERGENT
By Adnews Staff
Procter & Gamble Company is testing the waters with a low-cost detergent. The Cincinnati-based consumer products giant is entering the cut-price market with liquid laundry detergent Ultra Bonux. Starting in October, P&G will be testing the product in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, all in New York state. At the same time, P&G will start testing a new Tide Treatments line, consisting of a stain remover and a pre-wash treatment, in Dayton, Ohio and Cincinnati. P&G has hired Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Worldwide of New York to handle advertising for the new products. The agency already creates ads for brands such as Tide, Cascade automatic dishwashing detergent and Comet cleanser.
