NORTHWEST AIRLINES EXPANDS CONNECTFIRST PROGRAM

Northwest Airlines of St. Paul, Minnesota brought its ConnectFirst program to Ottawa, London, Ont. and Thunder Bay, Ont. this week. Under the deal, customers who pay for a full-fare coach-class ticket will receive a first-class seat on most connecting jet segments through the airline's detroit hub, plus 1,000 World Perks bonus miles, Northwest's frequent flyer program. Northwest also flies to all major Canadian cities. The ConnectFirst program is offered in each city. Northwest is relying on word-of-mouth to promote ConnectFirst. The airline has a dozen agencies around North America on its roster. Detroit is the hub of Northwest Airlines. From Detroit, the airline flies to 73 North American cities. It also operates daily non-stop flights from eight other U.S. cities.
