LASALLE CROSSES THE BORDER

U.S. real estate company LaSalle Partners of Chicago opened a Canadian office earlier this month in Toronto. The office will be lead by Laurence Himel and Peter Kobayashi, who will be joint executive vice-presidents. Previously Himel was a tenant representation specialist at SG Commercial Real Estate of Toronto, while Kobayashi was an independent advisor and real estate broker. LaSalle recently acquired Savills Galbreath International real estate group. SG Commercial Real Estate was a part of that group. Advertising for LaSalle's Toronto office will be handled in-house by the U.S. parent company. LaSalle usually launches ongoing print ads that highlight transactions and deals. It is looking into launching a larger North American campaign in the first quarter of 1998. LaSalle offers tenant representation, property leasing, corporate industrial services and other consulting services.
