KEEPING PRESENTED WITH HEART AWARD

Ottawa-based CJOH-TV news and public affairs vice-president Max Keeping was presented with the Paul Mulvihill Heart Award earlier this month. The annual award recognizes someone from the industries of broadcasting or advertising who gives selflessly to any national or local charity or community service. Keeping was recognized for his ongoing charitable work in the Ottawa-Carleton area. He is involved in such organzations as the Ottawa Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimers Society of Ottawa-Carleton, Children's Wish Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Children's Hopsital of Eastern Ontario and The Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre. There is also a Max Keeping bowl-a-thon which raises over $40,000 each year to assist less fortunate chidlren and their families. In 1996, Keeping co-founded the Brian Smith Foundation, which finances education, sport and recreational opportunities for young people in need. The award is sponsored by the Paul Mulvihill Charitable Foundation.
