STUDENTS USE HOME COMPUTERS FOR SCHOOL

Most students use computers to do their homework, according to a study done by Decima Research of Toronto. Eighty-six per cent of high school students use their home computers for homework assignments, while 50% of elementary students use them for school projects. Forty-four per cent of children aged five to 12 are using the Internet at home for school projects, while 56% of students aged 13 to 17 are using the Internet to conduct research for assignments. Most students also have access to computers at school, including 89% of elementary school students and 91% of high school. The study was commissioned by Microsoft Canada.
