COMPAQ ADDS TO ARMADA LINE UP

Compaq Computer Corp. of Houston expanded its line of Armada notebook computers by adding two new models to the series. Called the Armada 1540DM and the Armada 1590DMT, the machines are available worldwide and feature two megabytes of extended data output, 64-bit graphics chips, as well as a 20X CD-ROM drive. The 1590DMT uses a 166 MHz Intel Pentium processor with MMX technology. The 1540DM uses a 150 MHz Pentium processor. Both machines have a 12.1-inch screen. In Canada, the computers will be promoted using TV and business magazines beginning next month. Newspaper and trade ads began this month. The ads were created by Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of Toronto.
