H-P AND MITSUBISHI TO MAKE TINY COMPUTERS
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Hewlett-Packard and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. have joined forces to develop what they say will be the thinnest and lightest notebook computers. The machines will be launched worldwide early next year. A prototype was displayed at a U.S. press conference this week for U.S-based Intel Corp. It weighs 3.1 pounds, is less than .75 inches thick and has a 12.1 viewable-image Thin Film Transistor display. In Canada, H-P says its too early to announce advertising plans for the machines. Advertising for H-P in Canada is done by Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising of Toronto. PR is done by Benchmark Communications of Toronto.
