SPRINT GOES ONLINE

Sprint Canada of Toronto has entered the Internet market. The long-distance telecommunications company launched its Internet service called The Most online this week. Customers are given a free CD-ROM that automatically installs all of the necessary software, including Web browsers and electronic mail packages, to get customers started on the Internet. It also automatically enrolls the new customer when installation is complete. The CD-ROM provides a basic tour of the Internet, and shows, in plain language, how the Internet works. It shows how to use a browser, how to send and receive e-mail and how to use a search engine. Sprint offers 24-hour-a-day, 365-days-a-year support service. The Most online is available in 17 Ontario cities and offers a flat monthly fee with unlimited use. The service is free for the first month. The Most online is being supported with TV, print and direct mail advertising created by Grey Advertising of Toronto. ETC Communications of Toronto is doing PR.
