SEAGRAM TAKES ADVANTAGE OF ITS JUICE'S NAME

The Seagram Company of Montreal has changed the name of its beverage group to Tropicana Beverage Group. Formerly known as The Seagram Beverage Group, the company changed the name "to emphasize the importance of premium global brands in business today," Seagram president and CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr. says in a release. Tropicana Beverage Group includes a variety of brands, but is named after the company's strongest juice brand. In addition, Ellen Marram has been appointed president and CEO of Tropicana Beverage Group. Most recently she was president of the beverage group. Seagram operates in two global business segments: beverages and entertainment. The beverage businesses produce distilled spirits, wines, fruit juices, coolers, beers and mixers. The entertainment company is called Universal Studios. It produces motion pictures, television and home video products and recorded music. It also operates theme parks and retail stores.
