GREYHOUND JOINS FORCES WITH CLUB Z
By Adnews Staff
Greyhound Canada Transportation of Calgary wants to get into relationship marketing and has signed its first deal to do so. The company has teamed up with Zellers Inc. to offer air and bus travel miles to the retailer's Club Z members beginning this fall. In addition, Club Z members will be eligible for special monthly pricing for Greyhound Air travel. Club Z is the relationship marketing program for Zellers. To promote the program, Club Z members may redeem 799,0000 Club Z points to fly return between Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary or Edmonton and Toronto, Hamilton or Ottawa. Return travel between those points and Winnipeg is available for 609,000 points. The points must be redeemed between Aug. 13 and Aug. 27. The deal is being promoted using Zellers flyers and catalogue created in-house. Greyhound will promote its involvement in the program at a later date. The company's advertising is done by Palmer Jarvis Advertising of Vancouver. Greyhound's marketing director Jim Ballingal told Adnews yesterday that the company wants to expand its loyalty program with other companies as well, but couldn't comment on who that will be. Greyhound operates an inter-city bus company, a discount airline and a courier service.
