EPSON TO OFFER DIGITAL CAMERA
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Epson America will introduce a digital camera to the North American market in September called the PhotoPC 600. The camera offers an auto-focus feature and 1024 X 768 pixel resolution photos. The PhotoPC 600 can store seven superfine resolution images, 16 fine resolution images or 50 standard resolution pictures. Users can frame their pictures using either the traditional optical viewfinder or the built-in, two-inch active matrix color LCD monitor. Pictures can also be played back on the LCD monitor. The camera can print directly to a printer, weighs just over 13 ounces and is 5.6 X 2.8 X 1.9 inches in size. In Canada, advertising for the PhotoPC will begin in October. Epson in Canada hasn't decided yet if it will use U.S. creative done by Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of New York. For some campaigns, the company hires Canadian agencies on a project basis. Canadian media planning and buying is done in-house.
