NET SHEPHERD OFFERS INTERNET RATING SYSTEM
By Adnews Staff
Net Shepherd Inc. of Calgary has developed a device that allows research companies and ad agencies to track a consumer's movement around the World Wide Web. Called NS Symbiont, the product is a combination of a TV metering service and telephone survey. Advertisers and research companies using NS Symbiont sign up panelists to have the device installed on their computer. The panelists can then be monitored to find out where they go on the Web. They can also be asked questions such as what message does a Web site give and how easy is it to use. The system can track more than one user per computer because each individual is assigned a user identification number. The device can be used worldwide. Net Shepherd is promoting NS Symbiont using business-to-business direct mail done in-house.
