CITYSEARCH LANDS ITS ACCOUNT AT Y&R
By Adnews Staff
Young & Rubicam was given the Toronto Star's CitySearch account late last month. The Toronto agency won the business in a competition with two other Toronto agencies. "We're impressed with the depth and breadth of their commitment to New Media as an effective means of communication for business," CitySearch publisher Bruce Annan says in a release. Y&R's sister PR agency, Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto will be handling PR. Citysearch will launch on September 1. It is a free search guide for the greater Toronto area that will provide users with a variety of information such as menus of restaurants and events around town. In addition, it will include listings of over 160,000 businesses in and around Toronto, government services, community groups and daily editorial content. Users will be able to search by time period or price range with photos and detailed maps. CitySearch currently exists in several U.S. cities including San Francisco, Pasadena, California, Austin and Nashville, Texas and Portland, Oregon. It will also be launching soon in New York, Washington, Los Angeles and Australia.
