COMPAQ GOES WITH ONE GLOBAL AGENCY

Compaq Computer Corp. of Houston has handed its $200 million(US) global business to Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of New York. The agency already has the U.S. portion of the business. Its Toronto office creates ads for Canada. Bates Europe of London was the incumbent on the European portion of the account. Europe RSCG Ball Partnership of Hong Kong had the Asia Pacific region and Hakuhodo of Tokyo had the business in Japan. Compaq joins International Business Machines Corp., Intel Corp. and other tech giants in hiring global agencies.
