IBM INTRODUCES FIRST TV-COMPATIBLE AMBRA

IBM Canada of Markham, Ont. will add a new computer to its Ambra line of machines at the end of June. Called the Ispirati, the computer is the first consumer PC from IBM that features television output, letting consumers use their TV set as a monitor. The system is 2 3/4 inches thick and has a 14-inch monitor. The computer is champagne-bronze and black in color. It includes a 16X CD-ROM drive, a 33.6 Kbps modem and a 150 MHz MediaGX processor. Print advertising for the Ispirati will support the product's launch. It will be created by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto. The concept and computer name was developed by FCB Direct of Toronto.
