SUN MEDIA COMPLETES PURCHASE OF LONDON DAILY

Sun Media Corp. yesterday completed the purchase of the London Free Press and Netmar Inc. from Blackburn Group Inc. Netmar publishes community and shopper newspapers and distributes targeted products to Canadian homes. The Free Press, owned by London's Blackburn family for over 140 years, has a daily circulation of 105,000 and a Saturday circulation of 135,000. Its purchase makes Sun Media the second-largest daily newspaper owner in Canada in terms of total circulation.
