BATES LAUNCHES SALES PROMOTION NETWORK
By Adnews Staff
Bates Worldwide launched a new global sales promotion agency called 141 this week. The unit will operate as an independent, wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bates Worldwide network. Patrick Knisley, Bates Canada's president, said 141 would handle client promotions, point-of-sale material and other functions outside the realm of traditional advertising. Worldwide, 141 will consist of 18 offices in 17 countries with capitalized billings of approximately $200 million (U.S.). The agency's Toronto office, which counts Texaco, Everready and Imperial Tobacco among its clients, will report to both 141's North American headquarters in New York and to Knisley.
