Toronto-based Buss Marketing Group has been acquired by TomaNet, a division of merchant bank Titleist Energy Inc., also of Toronto. Buss is a marketing agency specializing in high-impact, low-cost television advertising opportunities mainly in connection with sports events, including the TSN Turning Point and Save of the Game as well as the Blue Jays and Expos Player of the Game and Pitching Change. TomaNet hopes the acquisition will build on the strengths of another recently-acquired subsidiary, Group Multimedia Network, which specializes in advertising solutions for technology companies and has experience with sports and event marketing. "Buss Marketing will operate as a separate, but wholly-owned TomaNet company," says GMN president Philip Bliss in a release, "while also integrating its services with Group Multimedia Network's sports and event marketing activities for specific advertising projects or campaigns when appropriate." Titleist Energy Inc. provides capital and financing solutions, management support and marketing expertise to emerging companies in the technology, marketing and media sectors.
