Conference Board of Canada rebrands
By Derek Winkler
The Ottawa-based Conference Board of Canada has begun a rebranding initiative. The organization will now operate as Signal49 Research. The name change follows the conclusion of a longstanding licensing agreement with international non-profit organization The Conference Board. According to parent company Aeric, the new name refers to the 49th parallel as well as to Signal Hill in Newfoundland, where the first transatlantic wireless message was received.
“For decades we've delivered evidence-based research and unique insights to help Canadian leaders tackle the country's toughest challenges,” said Susan Black, president and CEO of Signal49. “While our name is changing, our purpose, leadership and team remain the same. This evolution underscores our commitment to Canada and our role as the nation's leading independent research organization.”
