Oreo conducts cake shop promotion

Mondelez International has begun a promotion for its Oreo cookie brand called the “Willy Good Cake Shop.” The promotion is in support of the Canadian launch of a new product called Oreo Cakesters, a soft version of the cookie. The effort takes the form of a temporary installation in Toronto’s Union Station resembling a cake shop, which will distribute product samples. It includes the participation of Toronto Maple Leafs hockey player William Nylander and a draw for prizes including Maple Leafs game tickets. The promotion will run until Jan. 31.

“Oreo fans have patiently waited for Oreo Cakesters to come to Canada and we're so excited to finally bring this indulgent soft-baked experience to Canadians,” said Chantal Butler, vice-president of marketing at Mondelez Canada. “The playful connection between the deliciously soft Oreo Cakesters in partnership with ‘soft hands’ William Nylander to bring to life ‘Willy Good Cake Shop’ makes this launch truly special.”
