Cilento Wines Ltd. of Woodbridge, Ont. has signed on as the sponsor of the Canadian Opera Company's Surtitles program. Surtitles consists of a projected, capsulized translation of an opera's libretto displayed on the area of the stage between the bottom of the curtain and the orchestra pit. For the next three opera seasons, the Cilento logo will be featured on the first Surtitle at all of the COC's main stage performances. Cilento and the COC also plan to launch other promotional programs, but haven't worked out any detailed arrangements yet. Cilento, which opened for business just last summer, currently sells its wines only at its Woodbridge winery. However, the company says there are plans to expand the distribution network. Special Assignments Inc. of Toronto handles Cilento's PR. Walsh & Associates Advertising Inc., also of Toronto, handles Cilento's advertising.
