ROYAL BANK JOINS LEASING GAME

The Royal Bank of Canada and AT&T Capital Canada have teamed up to offer leases to businesses. Called the Royal Business Lease, the financing program can be used for a range of items for a business or home office including computers, photocopiers, fax machines and telecommunications equipment, as well as forklifts and dental or medical equipment. Leases are available from $1,000 to $50,000. AT&T will be the lessor of the equipment and provide customer service throughout the lease term. The leasing program became available this week in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. It will be rolled-out to the rest of the country over the next six months. Print, radio and direct mail advertising will promote the program, but the Royal Bank hasn't decided which of its roster agencies will handle the campaign. Royal Bank's agencies include: Mongeau Bacon & Chen and Allard Communications, both of Montreal, as well as Wunderman Cato Johnson, MacLaren McCann and Roche, Macaulay & Partners Advertising, all of Toronto.
