Mississauga Food Bank rebrands

The Mississauga Food Bank has rebranded as Food Banks Mississauga. According to the organization, the new name better reflects its position and its work as a group of entities. Food Banks Mississauga is the head of approximately 60 neighbourhood food banks and programs at work to counter food insecurity in the city.
“How we support our neighbours facing food insecurity has not changed,” said Meghan Nicholls, CEO of Food Banks Mississauga. “We’re still doing the same critical work we’ve always done, helping our neighbours get the food and support they need to live full, happy and healthy lives. Our new name more accurately reflects how our work has evolved as the need in our community grows, and more folks face food insecurity as a result of poverty. We now provide food to 82% more food bank users compared to four years ago, pre-pandemic.”
