Amacon begins food bank promotion

Real estate developer Amacon has begun a fundraising campaign called "Give a Little, Save a Lot" in support of the Mississauga Food Bank. During the initiative, consumers will receive a $1,000 credit toward the purchase of one of the development's condominiums for each 10 pounds of canned goods they bring to the company's Parkside Village sales office. The effort is being promoted with advertising in the Mississauga News and Condo Guide, as well as social media activities and public relations by Cowan & Company. "We created Give a Little, Save a Lot to raise awareness about the problem of hunger in Mississauga and to motivate people to take action," said Lilliana Di Franco, vice-president of marketing and sales at Amacon. "During the holiday season many people fret about piling on the pounds. We are turning that worry on its head by asking people to pile pounds of food onto our donation scale to help feed the hungry in our community."
