BCIT begins engineering campaign

The British Columbia Institute of Technology has begun a promotion called "Engineer an Inclusive Future" to coincide with National Engineering Month in March and Women in STEM Day on February 14. The promotion, a collaboration between the institution's School of Construction and the Environment, School of Energy, School of Transportation, and Marketing and Communications, is intended to encourage female students to pursue careers in engineering.

The campaign will include a panel event at the school on March 2, a video featuring three of the school's graduates, and a BCIT News series featuring engineering students, alumni, faculty and others, beginning on Feb. 28.

"Join us and start your career in engineering," said Andrea Frisque, Dean of the BCIT School of Energy. "This is where you can contribute toward solutions for the big questions we are currently facing; understanding the climate and how it changes, building new ways of providing energy at scale, creating healthy indoor spaces that can cope with a multitude of challenges, such as contagious diseases, forest fires, heat and cold waves, and so much more."
