NAC Indigenous Theatre, Facebook begin Reconcile This program

The National Arts Centre Indigenous Theatre has begun a promotion in collaboration with Facebook Canada called "Reconcile This - Indigenous Voices Online.” The four-year initiative will provide $400,000 in funding to Indigenous creators, as well as access to production equipment and training. The intent is to increase the presence of Indigenous history and culture online. The effort also includes the creation of four one-year associate producer positions at the theatre.
“We are really excited about this project,” said Kevin Loring, artistic director of the NAC Indigenous Theatre. “It is exactly the kind of support we need right now: funding, professional development opportunities and access to a platform dedicated to activating Indigenous voices, brilliance and creativity, centred on the concept of self-determination.”
