MOTOROLA AND IBM CUT COMPUTER PRICES

The Motorola Computer Group and IBM Canada Ltd. recently announced cuts to the prices of specific computer lines. Motorola has reduced the price of its StarMax Mac-compatible systems, which began shipping in November. All StarMax computers are 100% compatible with Apple's Mac operating system and include a five-year warranty, an eight-speed CD-ROM and 16-bit sound. IBM has cut the price of its PC 340 commercial desktop line up to 21%. The PC 340s feature IBM PC Networking Tools and a three-year parts and labor warranty. Patrick O'Neill & Associates handles PR for the Motorola Computer Group, while Goodman Communications Inc. deals with IBM's PR.
