Royal Canadian Mead launches Is the Park Busy website

Toronto-based alcoholic beverage company Royal Canadian Mead has begun an online promotion called “Is the Park Busy?” in advance of the upcoming long weekend. The initiative makes use of a website at <http://www.istheparkbusy.com> that will use data from Google Maps to provide real-time updates on crowd size at local Toronto parks during the weekend. According to the company, the intent to to allow consumers to visit a park at which social distancing can be maintained. The site is part of a larger summer campaign for the brand called “Summer Responsibly,” developed by BBDO.
“We know that spending time in parks is more important than ever this summer, being one of the safest ways to spend time with friends outdoors” said company president Matthew Gibson. “But after seeing how busy they can get, we wanted a quick and easy way for folks to plan which park they should head to. That’s where IsTheParkBusy.com comes in.”
