Canadian Cancer Society readies Relay At Home event

The Canadian Cancer Society will conduct a fundraising promotion called “Relay At Home” on June 13. The initiative is intended to support people with cancer during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. It takes the place of the organization’s annual “Relay For Life” promotion and will consist of an online event on YouTube and Facebook. The event will include interactive activities and performances by musicians including Brett Kissel, Paul Langlois, Joel Plaskett, The Reklaws, Peter Katz, Virginia to Vegas and VersaCello. The effort also includes a website at <http://www.relayforlife.ca>.

“The Canadian Cancer Society is facing its biggest financial challenge in our 80-year history due to COVID-19,” said Andrea Seale, CEO of the organization. “With nearly one in two Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes, we need the support of Canadians now more than ever. ‘Relay At Home’ is a great way for people to get involved and support the cancer cause.”
