New president at Rock-it Promotions

Toronto-based public relations agency Rock-it Promotions has promoted Kate Makinson to the position of president. She was previously vice-president of the firm. Former president and agency founder Debra Sadowski has moved to the position of chief executive officer. In addition, Victoria Gormley has been appointed to the position of vice-president on a full-time basis. She was acting vice-president at the agency while Makinson was on maternity leave. Gormley was previously in publicity and promotional marketing at Warner Bros Pictures Canada.
“The business has operated as a single structure leader since its inception,” said Sadowski. “When we were in our infancy, and even our adolescence, I could play many roles. Now the company is at a size where it needs to be run with foresight from multiple leaders who understand my vision as it relates to client service and staff satisfaction, and also possess the business acumen to continue our thriving growth trajectory.”
