Elections Canada begins awareness campaign

Elections Canada has begun an awareness campaign in advance of the federal election this fall. The voter information campaign is intended to make eligible electors aware of the information they need to register and vote, with a focus on those facing barriers to electoral participation. The campaign includes a website, social media content, online videos and a national digital advertising campaign.
“It remains a concern to me that young Canadians are registered at a much lower rate than other segments of the population,” said chief electoral officer Stéphane Perrault. “That means that they are less likely to get accurate information about the electoral process and are less likely to vote as they get older. We will continue to work to change that.”
