CRTC issues ruling on TVA Sports dispute

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has issued a binding decision stating that Quebecor must continue to make its TVA Sports channel available to Bell TV customers. Due to an ongoing dispute between the two companies, Quebecor had raised the possibility of withholding Bell’s access to the channel during the NHL playoffs. The CRTC decision requires Quebecor to provide TVA Sports to Bell TV "at the same rates and on the same terms and conditions as they did before the dispute, until the parties resolve their dispute or the Commission issues a decision concerning this unresolved matter." Bell has filed a request with the CRTC to resolve the dispute through arbitration.
