Kellogg begins Treats For Toys campaign

Kellogg Canada has begun a holiday season charitable fundraising initiative in the name of its Rice Krispies brand of breakfast cereal. The social media campaign, called "Treats For Toys," encourages consumers to make Rice Krispies Treats in the shape of toys and then submit photographs of them via social media sites or a campaign website at <http://treatsfortoys.ca>. For each submission, the company will donate $20 to The Salvation Army, which will use the funds to provide toys to children living in poverty. The initiative will run until Dec. 31.

"During the holidays, many parents want to involve their children in supporting those less fortunate," said Christine Jakovcic, vice-president of marketing at Kellogg Canada. "We're thrilled 'Treats For Toys' has become a holiday tradition and provides a teachable moment for kids to give back in a fun and delicious way."
