EDELMAN GETS BAYER BUSINESS
By Adnews Staff
Edelman Public Relations Canada of Toronto has been tapped to handle the public relations for a new product release from Bayer Inc.'s Animal Health Group. Edelman got the account in December after pitching to Bayer, but didn't have to go through a formal competition. Edelman offices around the world have worked with Bayer units in the past, but Bayer does not have a public relations agency of record, said Freda Colbourne, Edelman Canada's vice-president, corporate and consumer. Other Edelman offices in various countries are also having to pitch for the new Bayer release. The new business is for a flea control product that is still undergoing regulatory approval. Colbourne said it should be released in the next several months. She declined to comment on the budget for the account. Edelman Canada is part of the 33-office network of Edelman Public Relations Worldwide.
