BANK OF MONTREAL LAUNCHES FUND BLITZ

The Bank of Montreal, through Bank of Montreal Investment Ltd., launched an advertising campaign for its family of mutual funds, First Canadian Funds, earlier this month. The ads are based on the idea that buying mutual funds doesn't have to be a complicated process. The national campaign includes TV spots, print ads, free-standing newspaper inserts and radio. The three 30-second TV spots feature a character touting mutual funds. Eventually the character's speech is stopped by a bystander sick of listening to him. Vickers and Benson of Toronto handled the advertising, which will run throughout January and February.
