HEWLETT-PACKARD INTRODUCES NEW SERVER
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Hewlett-Packard released a new low-end PC server last week to the North American market. Called the HP NetServer LD Pro system, the server includes Pentium Pro processing with up to 512 MB of Error Checking and Correcting system memory, hot-swap disk drives and up to 27 gigabytes of hot-swap storage capacity. HP is touting the new product as a low-end price solution capable of giving small and medium-sized work groups the same level of performance as a mid to high-end server. In Canada, no new advertising for the product is planned. But HP has an ongoing national print campaign running for its NetServer products. Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising of Toronto handles the ads. Benchmark Communications Inc., also of Toronto, is handling PR for the new server.
