Smoke's Poutinerie conducts Crazy Rich Poutine promotion

Toronto-based fast food chain Smoke's Poutinerie recently conducted a promotion called "Crazy Rich Poutine" in collaboration with Warner Bros. in support of upcoming film Crazy Rich Asians. On July 30, actors from the movie and Smoke's founder Ryan Smolkin worked to create an expensive serving of poutine at a Toronto location of the chain. The dish included French fries, cheese curds, gravy, lobster, wagyu steak, truffle oil, caviar, mushrooms, kimchi, edible orchids and gold flakes. It was valued at $448. Consumers at the event then sampled the poutine and received passes to an advance screening of the film.

"You've seen surf and turf poutine before, but we just took it to an insane, never-seen-before level with our 'Crazy Rich Poutine,'" said Smolkin. "This was a wicked opportunity to team up with the cast of Crazy Rich Asians and entertain our Plaid Nation fans with the world's richest poutine."
