THRIFTY RENTAL RELEASES NEW SERVICE
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Thrifty Car Rental introduced a new feature on its Web site this week that allows customers to make car reservations over the Internet. To use the service, a visitor completes an information form in the reservations section. They are then given a rate and a confirmation number. Site visitors can also check or cancel reservations while online. Julie Chan-McConnell, marketing co-ordinator for Thrifty Canada, Ltd., told Adnews the company is considering advertising the new service in travel trade magazines in the new year. Promanad Communications Inc. of Toronto handles Thrifty's Canadian advertising. Ads for the new reservation feature are running in U.S. travel magazines. They were created by Thrifty's U.S. agency Ackerman McQueen. Thrifty has over 150 locations nationwide
