Air Canada releases new Olympic commercial

Air Canada of Montreal has released a new commercial that will air during the opening ceremonies of the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. The ad, called "Our Time," features a number of Canadian athletes and narration by actor Ryan Reynolds. The creative focuses on the "welcoming and caring spirit" of Canadians. The television execution is accompanied by out-of-home ads in international airports in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.

Participating athletes include hockey player Marie-Philip Poulin, freestyle skier Cassie Sharpe, para Nordic skier Mark Arendz, and figure skaters Patrick Chan, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. The initiative is part of a larger ongoing campaign launched in December that focuses on the theme of home. Air Canada is a sponsor of the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic teams.

"Canada has a lot to offer the world," said Andy Shibata, managing brand director at Air Canada. "From our inspiring people to our country's highly respected reputation, Team Canada represents the nation's values when they fly the flag in competition. In 'Our Time' we celebrate those athletes as they show the world what we are made of."
