Mercedes-Benz opens shopping mall store

Automaker Mercedes-Benz Canada has begun a retail promotion at Ontario shopping centre CF Markville. The company has opened a retail location in the mall called the "Mercedes Me Store Markham." According to the company, the location is intended to "give consumers a new way to interact with and experience the leading automotive brand."
The 5,600-square-foot installation includes a display of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and branded lifestyle products for sale. Promotional workers will be present to provide additional information and to direct consumers to the local Mercedes-Benz Markham dealership.
"People may be surprised to see Mercedes-Benz in a shopping centre alongside more traditional retailers," said Philipp von Witzendorff, vice-president and head of Toronto retail operations at Mercedes-Benz Canada. "This is an exciting new opportunity for us to engage with people in new and unexpected ways. It's designed to be a welcoming place for people to informally stop by and check out the latest models, ask questions, or just browse items from the Mercedes-Benz Collection as part of their shopping trip at CF Markville. Ultimately, we are trying to evolve our offering to meet people where they are and fit within their lifestyle."
CF Markham is a property of real estate developer Cadillac Fairview.
