Cineplex debuts digital hoardings

Cineplex Digital Solutions has introduces a new form of digital hoarding intended to be used in the windows of vacant stores in shopping malls and other retail locations. The hoarding makes use of touch- and gesture-enabled screens, along with embedded cameras. The screens can be used to display customized content or games, to distribute digital coupons or to conduct social media activities. The displays can also be used to collect consumer data. The product is being debuted in the CF Markville shopping mall in Markham, ON.

"Digital hoarding is really about creating guest experiences and deriving value from a space in a retail environment that used to be off-limits to shoppers," said Fab Stanghieri, general manager of Cineplex Digital Media. "Digital interactive and engaging experiences are growing in popularity with shopping centres because they're effective, affordable, reusable and fully-customizable, and the data shows that visitors love them."
