The Garden conducts gnome campaign

Toronto-based The Garden has begun a promotion for itself involving gnome figurines. The client recruitment campaign is based on a website at <http://www.thegardencollective.com/gnome> at which companies can request one of the foot-high figurines. Each gnome incorporates a button which, when pressed, will send an email to Dic Dickerson, managing director of The Garden, requesting assistance with advertising creative.

"We wanted to do something that would not only capture attention, but demonstrate our ability to play in the world of digital and tech," said The Garden co-founder Shane Ogilvie. "We needed it to be completely self-sufficient and just work when it comes out of the package. It sits on your desk, you touch it, and it sends us an e-mail."

The initiative also includes a 90-second online video promoting the gnome shot in the style of a 1980s television infomercial and featuring Dickerson.
