ASC NAMES NEW CHAIR

Robert Anderson has been appointed chair of the National Advertising Standards Council. Prior to his retirement last August, Anderson was general counsel and secretary for Procter & Gamble. He has also served on numerous boards including, P&G Canada, the Canadian Manufacturers' Association, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Children's Aid Society of Metropolitan Toronto. Anderson has also been president of the Association of Canadian General Counsel and is currently a director of Mission Air and the Ontario division of the CMA. AMC is comprised of members of the advertising industry and the public. It is responsible for upholding the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards, which is the principal instrument of advertising self-regulation.
