CITIZENS' GROUP LAUNCHES BC AD CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
The National Citizens' Coalition has launched a campaign to support the legal challenge of a group of British Columbians trying to overturn this year's election of the NDP government. The group is called HELP BC. The challenge is based on the organization's claim that B.C. premier Glen Clark lied to voters during this year's election when he guaranteed a balanced budget. Clark is now forecasting a budget deficit. The government and HELP BC appeared before the courts yesterday with the government trying to have the group's challenge thrown out. The NCC first became involved with the issue in August, when it was approached by HELP BC's founder, David Stockell. At that time, the NCC ran a print ad asking voters who felt deceived by the government's deception to join a legal action against the NDP. The new ad, which ran yesterday in the Vancouver Sun, carries the headline, "The NDP is in Power Because of a Lie." The NCC prepared the ad in-house. Griffin Bacal Volny of Toronto did the media buy. If the ads get a positive response, more ads will be launched and the campaign will be expanded to reach the entire province. The NCC is dedicated to achieving more freedom through less government.
