Telus, Co-op Cabs begins Wi-Fi promotion in Toronto

Telus has begun a joint promotion with Co-op Cabs of Toronto to provide free Wi-Fi access in the company's taxis. The first vehicles became operational on Sept. 12, while the remainder will be outfitted with hotspots by the end of the year. The cabs with internet access will be marked with a Telus logo. According to Telus, this is the first program of its kind in the Greater Toronto Area. Telus began a similar initiative with Yellow Cab of Vancouver last year.

"At Telus, we're committed to keeping our customers connected anytime, anywhere, and now we're giving all of Toronto a taste of it too," said Simone Lumsden, vice-president of brand and customer experience marketing at Telus. "We're partnering with Co-op Cabs to keep all Torontonians connected on Ontario's largest mobile network, no matter which carrier, to show how our service sets us apart."
