Stewardship Ontario begins Hey You campaign

Stewardship Ontario has begun a new campaign called "Hey You," intended to raise awareness of plastic and aluminum recycling. Developed by Brees Communications of Toronto, the initiative encourages consumers, specifically those who live in apartments or condominiums, to recycle plastic and aluminum containers. The campaign consists of transit posters, radio commercials, out-of-home ads, print ads and online ads. The creative focuses on the ease-of-use of the Blue Box system for recycling these materials.

"Many people living in apartments and condos are unaware that dedicated recycling rooms or areas are located within their building," said Liz Falconer, president and CEO of Brees Communications. "Every day, countless recyclable plastic and aluminum containers are thrown away, often due to a lack of awareness. This campaign acts as a friendly and amusing reminder."

Stewardship Ontario is a not-for- profit organization that manages the Blue Box and Orange Drop programs in the province.
